Hello, welcome to Caseking TV. My name is Stefan
and today we speak about noise dampening.
Dampening in cases, as sets or single dampening products we offer.
I am in charge for the dampening at Caseking, so you got the right guy for this topic today.,
We offer sets for computer cases, when you already own the case
and we also offer dampened cases. This is a not dampened one, where i show you some possibilities later on.
And we offer single mats like 80, 92, 120 or 140 mm fan size and for 5,25" slots,
universal sets in Mini/HTPC, Midi and Big Tower size, for cases we don´t offer individual sets.
The material is a fine perforated patent leather,
really interesting, because first it looks very good and second it is washable.
in between 10 mm acoustic foam and at the bottom self adhesive.
The bottom is covered with a foil and a position sticker in german and english
with a little number which you can find in the installation manual picture.
The mats have a very high effect in a broad frequence range, this means the acoustic foam and the patent leather nearly eliminate all noise.
Else than other manufacturers we don´t use bitumen.
We tested it and did not recognize any advantage.
Another reason we don´t use bitumen is the strong smell caused from it.
The typical tar smell you surely know.
Our mats are up to 100° C temperature resistant.
Our glue really lasts. If you once had mats coming off in summer, this won´t happen here.
What is the aim of dampening ?
Of course, we want to make the computer more silent. The question is at what price.
You may of course close all openings on a case and take care that nothing can get out.
The problem is of course its components.
In a normal computer we have the processor, graphics card and other components that expose heat.
We have to find a good balance between dampening and airflow.
We can´t dismount all fans or close all vents, because we need some airflow.
So first we check to find spots that can be fitted without covering any ventilation area.
Here it is the middle part of the floor, no air vents and very good to dampen.
For the power supply spot we would enclose a mat, so you can choose to install it or not.
Unterneath the power supply you find air vents. You would need to turn the power supply upside down not to block the fan.
That is why this slot remains free when dampened by us.
Here you have a 120 mm fan in the back.
You also get a mat for that spot to decide whether you keep the fan or not.
If there are more fan slots in other places, as here in the top,
we may likely divide the mat in front, middle and back part.
Here would fit the front and back part and give you the middle piece as an additional part.
Of course we try to cut the mats as big as possible, not to keep open slots.
A good example is a side panel. Here we would fit one big mat.
Only if there is a bar at the side of the framing, we keep free space for it, so the side panel still fits perfect.
We really try to fit every case as good as possible.
What we don´t glue is included as additional mat, every possible spot will be dampened.
When putting mats behind mesh we need to take care because of the looks.
The adhesive side doesn´t look that good. For this and more we include many tips in the manual.
I am happy i could show the stuff i am responsible at Caseking and
hope to see you again next time on Caseking TV.
