Hey, guys.
I'm Sydne Summer of Think Thru Fashion.
So, today I'm going to show you a few different tips
you can use to style your little black dress.
Now, an LBD is a staple that every woman should have
in her closet.
So, I'm wearing one with a moderate neckline, that way
I can wear it day or night, and it has a full skirt.
So, if you don't know what style to choose, I suggest going
with an A-line, because it's flattering for almost every
body, and it hides those problem areas we want to disguise.
So, the first way that you can style your little black dress
is by using color.
So, I'm going to throw on this pink cardigan, which is a great
way to cover up at work if you need to, or if you're going
out to lunch with your kids or your family.
And, you can wear it open, or you can button it,
that way you make the dress more like a skirt.
So, I'm just going to button it up.
Now, once it's buttoned, I would suggest probably adding a belt,
that way the sweater is more like a top
and you instantly have a new look.
Now, I'm a huge fan of playing with contrasting colors,
so instead of these black shoes, I'm going to take these off
and throw on some red pumps.
So, just play with whatever colors you have in your closet,
whether it's orange and blue, or purple, or green.
If you think it clashes, just go for it, it's fun.
So now, another way you can style your little black dress
is with a statement necklace.
So, I'm going to take off this belt, just leave it over there.
Take off the cardigan, and if you're going for a nighttime
activity, I would add some sparkles.
So, you can do so with a brooch necklace,
or anything with crystals, a little glam factor.
If you want something a little more Boho,
you can throw on these beads, so voilĂ .
Now, another way you can update your little black dress
is with a flower pin.
I absolutely love the flower pin.
It makes me think of Carrie Bradshaw.
So you can put it on your strap, add a little color there,
or you can put it on your waist, kind of like a belt.
Now, speaking of belts, that's yet another way you can style
your little black dress.
If you want to be edgy, I would suggest going with studs.
You know, you can go with gold studs, black studs,
maybe throw on a ***.
If you want to add a little animal print, a little wild,
use a scarf -- it's a great accessory.
You just put it around your waist and tie it.
You can just tie it in back.
I usually just do a little bow; it's really simple, easy.
See? So easy.
Now, if you want something a little more casual, put on --
where'd it go -- a tan belt.
So, if you cinch your waist, it really helps achieve
that hourglass silhouette that we all want.
Think Sofia Vergara, you know, you show off your waist
and you have your curves.
Since it's daytime, I'm going to switch out my red pumps.
Instead, go for a flat boot, so you can do black or brown.
I'm going to go matchy-matchy,
there's nothing wrong with that anymore.
So, we're going to slip on these boots, and you can always
throw on a jacket to make it -- oh, excuse me --
a little more daytime.
So, you can throw on a trench, or, I want to go with denim.
So, I'm putting on a jean jacket which is very back in style
right now, and it comes in and out of fashion all the time.
So, just to recap a few ways to instantly update your
little black dress -- Play with color.
Do a cardigan, some bright pumps,
or do a statement necklace.
Add sparkle, add some beads, try a flower pin, my fave.
And, do belts, do the studs, tan.
Add some flat boots, and you're good to go.
So, I hope you enjoyed your tips.
Again, I'm Sydne Summer with Think Thru Fashion.
Thanks for watching.
