A reproductive endocrinologist
is a
specially trained physician who cares for the infertile couple who is
looking to conceive a child.
Reproductive endocrinologists
initially do four years of training in obstetrics and gynecology under an
accredited
residency program in ob-gyn.
After those four years are completed
they would then proceed to do three additional years
of advanced subspecialty training in reproductive endocrinology and
infertility including
training in assisted reproductive technology and advanced surgical
techniques
which would give them the skills and the knowledge to be able to best treat the
infertile couple.
