Welcome to our review of the Gazelle Edge Trainer.
Although many people see the Gazelle Edge as a low cost elliptical trainer it should
more properly be described as a high performance exercise glider which is designed to improve
your cardiovascular performance.
This is a 'flat pack' trainer which comes with everything you need to assemble it and
can be put together by one person without difficulty.
Once assembled its 1 1/2 inch rolled steel frame, including a patented dual-action suspension
system incorporating aircraft quality cables, provides a very stable exercise platform which
can support users up to 250 lbs in weight.
Its extra-wide non-slip foot platforms make it easy to vary your exercise from a quite
gentle slow walk to a long striding full run with ease and make this trainer suitable for
people of all ages and fitness levels who require anything from a gentle twenty minutes
walk to keep them mobile to a full heart pumping and sweat breaking workout.
The handlebars are covered in high density foam for both comfort and a sound grip and
the Gazelle Edge also sports an easy-to-use 5 function workout computer which provides
an instant readout of such things as your speed, the distance you have traveled, the
time for which you have been exercising and how many calories you have burnt.
Also, and very important for a lot of people, this unit will fold flat and can easily be
stored upright in a corner of the room or in a closet. Alternatively, it can be rolled
out of sight under the bed.
But what do customers think of the Gazelle Edge?
This is a very popular purchase with an abundance of feedback which shows clearly that more
than 8 out of 10 buyers are very satisfied with their choice.
In particular people love the fact that this machine allows them to workout in the privacy
of their own home and not only get fit but, in many cases, also lose weight at the same
time.
They also like the fact that this trainer does not need to be hooked up to an electrical
supply and so can be used just about anywhere you might want to use it.
It has a beautifully smooth and, of course, silent action and you can even exercise while
listening to your favorite music or watching television without having to turn up the volume.
Finally, many people say that a key factor in their decision to purchase the Gazelle
Edge was the fact that they could fold it flat for storage, making it ideal for anyone
for whom space is at a premium.
With such a wealth of feedback it is not surprising to find that there are a few negative comments
and two in particular are worthy of note.
The first is that, while you do have a workout computer, it is very basic and really not
up to the job.
The second is that there is no way to adjust the resistance of this machine which is really
the key to building up your level of fitness over time.
It is important to realize that this is a basic exercise machine and you simply cannot
compare it to elliptical training machines costing in many cases over $1,000. That said,
if you are looking for an exercise machine which does not cost a lot of money, is easy
to use and can give you a reasonably good cardiovascular workout then you might well
find that the Gazelle Edge meets your needs nicely.
