With all the stress of juggling work and family life,
I find it difficult to find time to exercise like I used to
If only there was a way I could manage it all....
Well there certainly is an answer!
Have you tried incorporating your child into a regular fitness routine?
A recent study in the American Journal for Health Promotion found that children of mothers
who promote a positive fitness environment and encourage their child to become involved
will be more likely to be active later in life
I just dont think my child would go through with it.
How can I make it something we both will enjoy?
Try making boring workouts seem more like a game that the child can enjoy!
Children also may develop a sense on accomplishment for performing "grown up" activities
Here are some family friendly variations to exercises you already know!!!!!!
Are you ready?
This exercise shown is a variation of the triceps dip,
with a child placed on the abdomen for extra weight.
Are you ready?
This next exercise is a simple push-up.
You may do a "girl" push-up if regular ones are too difficult.
But remember, the higher the child is on your shoulders,
the more weight you will have to push-up
The next exercise is simple squat. The child s held in the arms for extra support.
This exercise builds core muscles, as well as thighs and hamstrings.
Jumping jacks are a great way to work out the cardiovascular system.
It also enhances coordination.
The final exercise is a variation of crunches.
The child sits on the abdomen, which creates resistance and strengthens abdominal muscles.
Although you may have to modify our routines to meet your specific needs,
remember that the focus is on FITNESS and FUN.
But be prepared....
because the bigger your child gets,
the bigger your muscles will get!
