What is up my eryibros and welcome back to another theory! Today we are going to be talking
about the “Clay doll” pokemon claydol. Yeah really creative species name game freak,
really had to use the old noggin there. Anyways ever since claydol was introduced to us in
generation 3 I was always drawn to this pokemon. It always made me question where did this
pokemon come from? So today I am going to explain the origin of this Mud Statue pokemon.

a friend, and with that being said let’s get started!
Claydol is a large, black Pokémon that resembles a mud statue with two stubby legs. It has
a wide, spherical head with a rounded protrusion on top. Around its head are many large, pink
eyes with yellow, beak-like protrusions between each. A wavy, white rim runs along the upper
edges of the eyes. Its torso has white ring markings, each with a downward extension and
a yellow dot in the middle. It has spherical arms with a rounded protrusion that are capable
of firing beams. These arms are not attached to its body, but are usually kept floating
close by Claydol's psychic powers. Claydol uses the same telekinetic abilities to move
and float through the air. Claydol's design is similar to the Shakōki-dogū—a "spaceman"
clay figurine from the Jōmon period of Japanese history. What’s interesting about this pokemon
though is that in multiple pokedex entries they state the following, “An ancient clay
figurine that came to life as a Pokémon from exposure to a mysterious ray of light.”
Now from the surface of this it may seem a bit unclear what I am trying to say, but hold
on it will all be made clear soon enough.
While I was doing research for my previous theory with MandJ I came across something
very interesting. If you take a look at pokemon black and white you can see that claydol can
only be found in the relic castle, specifically in volcarona’s room. But why can it only
be found there? Remember the last video with MandJ? The video where we found out that When
volcanic ash darkened the atmosphere, Volcarona's fire provided a replacement for the sun. Well
my theory is that Volcarona Created Claydol. As I stated earlier, This could be very possible
due to Claydol’s Pokemon Black and White Pokedex entry. Well what if, Volcarona’s
light had some other mysterious characteristics to it. The ancient civilization of the Relic
castle were known for having powerful science and technology according to Gollet’s Pokemon
White Pokedex entry which states, “These Pokémon are thought to have been created
by the science of an ancient and mysterious civilization.” The ancient civilization
needed to have some kind of energy to make this sort of technology operable. Electricity
did not exist back then so the only kind of energy that they could have had was solar.
Yes Solar energy can be obtained from the sun, but it was not enough to power this new
technology. Volcarona being practically a replacement for the sun works perfectly because
at the time it was not using its energy to act as the sun. Volcarona could concentrate
all of its energy into enhancing the civilization’s technology. This type of energy that Volcarona
emits has the ability to power a lot of machinery practically bringing it to life. The claydol
were born from ancient clay dolls made from ancient people according to Claydol’s Pokemon
Firered and Leafgreen Pokedex entry. What if the Claydol’s were made the same way
the other technology was made and was brought to life due to Volcarona’s solar energy?
Bringing a Pokemon to life though? There has to be something special about Volcarona’s
energy that’s why the people revered it as a God.
