Welcome to Week 6 of Organizational Behavior and Management.
Hopefully you guys have shoveled yourselves out of the snow. I know I for one am
sick and tired of the snow. I've had enough of that living in New York
and so I thought I was living in the South. But, surprise, surprise! I guess not.
So, this week you should be reading Chapter 5 and posting to Discussion #5
within your groups on D2L. Your initial post, remember, is due on Wednesday
at noon, instead of Tuesday at noon. And the forum closes, as always, on Friday
- this Friday at noon.
Remember for each Discussion you are to post 3 times:
your initial post, in addition to the 2 responses to your classmates' initial posts.
You also - head up - you will not have any new reading
for next week; nor any discussion post assignments for next week.
And this is because next week is kind of a catch-up week for you
to catch up on your reading and for you to start reviewing for your midterm
examination. The midterm will be the week before
Spring Break. So the midterm will open next Friday, which is February 28 and
it will close on Friday March 7.
So, there is a study guide posted in your Content tab on D2L at the very end
of Module 1. That should serve as a guide for you in studying for the midterm.
Note that the midterm study guide is not inclusive of everything.
And this is because I load about 2 times as many items
as I would need for each exam into D2l - into the D2L library.
And then I set it up so that D2L will randomly select the questions that each one of you
will receive. So your questions will be different from your classmates'
questions. So you may get a lot of questions from Chapter 1 whereas, for example,
your classmate may get more questions from Chapter 5. If you have
any disability issues that would require special accommodation please reach out
to me ASAP. Let me know on email if you have those issues so that
I can make the necessary accommodations so that you can do your best on this
midterm exam. Don't forget about the Extra Credit Service Learning Assignment.
It is optional and you need to email me first to get permission...just get
the green light for whatever experience you desire...Some of you were a little bit
confused about the grades being dropped in the gradebook. I set up the settings
in the D2L gradebook to drop your lowest discussion score. So, as the semester
progresses D2L will do that automatically. So, don't be alarmed if you see a dropped
grade next to one of your grades. That just simply means you may have
scored a perfect score on each one of the discussions. But D2L just chooses
the latest grade, if it's the latest perfect score, then it chooses that score to drop.
So if you see a little gray exclamation point and you hover over it it says 'dropped'
and that's just the explanation for that, so don't be alarmed.
As always, if you have any questions, comments...either comment in the 'Questions'
discussion forum or you may reach out to me individually and I'll be happy
to clarify or answer any questions. Enjoy this balmy weather if you are
in Tennessee. If you are somewhere further South
then we envy you...if you're in the Caribbean or something like that.
But, again, enjoy your week and let me know if you have any questions.
