If you use Photoshop CS3 Extended, I just want to take a minute here in this movie
and give you a glimpse of some of the key new features in Photoshop CS4
Extended. Now, one of the big ones is the ability to animate 3D objects.
So in CS3 we could move a 3D object around, but we cannot animate that, and we can do
that now in CS4. Later on in this training series, we are actually
going to take this 3D jet and make it fly through space and rotate as it's
flying. Another really key feature for speeding up the workflow they have added,
if we go here to the flyout of the Animation panel, is it they have added
Timeline Shortcut Keys. So now we can do things like jump to the end of our
animation or the beginning of our animation or the beginning of the work area
or the end of work area or the in point or the out point, we can advance
one frame at a time and all these things can be done with keyboard shortcuts,
which really speeds up the whole workflow. Another thing that they haven't really added
but they have enhanced the ease of is the ability to playback audio.
(Music playing.) Photoshop CS3 Extended actually did have
the ability to playback audio, but it was a last minute feature that was thrown in.
It wasn't in the documentation. It wasn't even in the interface.
So if you didn't know the keyboard shortcut of how to access it, then you
couldn't playback audio in your movie. But now, there is a speaker icon right
here in the Timeline and so if you want to playback audio, again it's as
simple as a click of a button. (Music playing.)
And I should point out it's a very intuitive click of a button as well.
So we'll look at a little bit more in- depth at all of these as well as many
more features as we go through the training.
