Tuesday, Filner pleaded guilty to false imprisonment for putting a women in a headlock and two

Filner was the first Democratic Mayor in San Diego in more than two decades, and according
to a writer for CNN this scandal could keep his party out of the mayoral office for quite
a while longer.
"... the loudest voices clamoring for Filner to leave have belonged to his fellow Democrats.
... They know what's at stake. Filner could drag his party down with him, and send the
county back into the Republican column for another generation." (Via CNN)
The city will hold a special election on November 19th to elect the a new mayor of San Diego.
