Hi. John here, with Real Truck Garage. Say, a lot of people been calling in
and asking us, "How do we get these badges and markers off of our trucks?"
Well, you know we really love our dealerships and everything but sometimes
we just want a more clean, sleek look to the back of our vehicle. So, I'm
going to be showing you today how to go ahead and get these dealership tags
off.
The first thing we need to do is know what we need to do this with. What I
use is I just use a heat gun and, most everybody has some of this laying
around, fishing line. The first step is to go ahead and take the heat gun
and heat up the badge, so that way we can get the adhesive loosened up so
that we can get this peeled off with our fishing line and I'll show you how
to do the fishing line in just a moment. The important thing to remember
when you're doing this is not to get this over hot and boil the paint on
the back of your truck. So, you only want to get it hot enough just to get
that glue loosened up. Okay.
Once we got that good and hot and what we'll do is well take our fishing
line and get a good bite on it, slide it underneath the end of the badge
and work it back and forth like a saw. And there you have it. Okay. So,
what I'll do is I'll take the adhesive cleaner, just spray a liberal amount
on the adhesive that's left on there, get it good and soaked down. And then
what we'll do is we'll let that soak for about three to five minutes. Now
that this has been setting for a while we're going to go ahead and take our
plastic scraper and go ahead and start scraping that left over adhesive off
the back of our truck.
Okay. And there you have it, just like it was never there.
