YAN: Good morning, today is Day 3
because I am going to paint the 3rd finger.
YAN: Day 3 in Kathmandu
and Day 2 of our package trek.
YAN: And,
we are going to Namche Bazaar today,
so, third finger.
YAN: Third day.
YAN: Green colour.
YAN: Manicure in the mountains - woohoo.
YAN: Thank you, Lye Ti, once again, for the present.
YAN: Ok, what's happening?
Erm, I am having my leg wrapped up by Peter.
The other, erm,
fellow trekker
that is with us
from the Philippines.
He is an athlete coordinator.
PETER: As in Chinese traditional custom,
I shall now apply my 24-hr saliva
to alleviate the pain.
Well, whatever that one must do,
one must do.
YAN: Towards Namche Bazaar, and it's Day 3!
NAMASTE!
YAN: They are so shy.
YAN: Sunscreen - good!
YAN: Thanks Lye Ti, again, for this!
RATNA: This is Thamserku,
which is one of the famous mountains in Everest region,
which is 6,626m high.
RATNA: We are seeing the south face of Thamserku.
YAN: Sagamartha means Everest in Nepali.
YAN: And, Everest Base Camp is inside the National Park.
RATNA: Now we are in here.
And, we are going to walk...
RATNA: Walk through from there...
The red line is it?
RATNA: The red line, and up there, till there.
RATNA: That is the Khumbu Glacier Icefall.
RATNA: And, Mount Everest is that one!
RATNA: This is the Mount Everest.
RATNA: The one thing that they are putting down?
RATNA: That is the border of Tibet and Nepal.
YAN: Welcome!
YAN: This is the start of our trek to Everest Base Camp.
YAN: We are on our way to..
Jorsalle Village.
YAN: And then, after that we are going to Namche Bazaar,
and that's where we are going to spend the night
and acclimatize for the day.
YAN: We are on the highest bridge of this trek.
YAN: It is newly opened.
YAN: There was another bridge before below that but,
with that bridge you have to climb up.
YAN: But with this bridge, you just go straight on.
YAN: So it's much easier.
YAN: And that's our two porters behind!
YAN: Hi, we are in community police checkpoint
to Namche Bazaar.
YAN: We will be there. Don't worry.
YAN: It was a difficult walk up.
YAN: The altitude is like 3,400 now.
YAN: So we are huffing and puffing.
YAN: But we are ok!
YAN: The worst is yet to come...
YAN: Yey, we are in Namche Bazaar.
YAN: That's where we are going to stay.
YAN: It's so colourful - the place!
YAN: Oh, that's a stupa
with Buddha's eyes
watching over us all.
