Hi, everyone,
Welcome to the philosophy 8 celebration!
First, a quick word about the YouTube video player. Captions can be turned off or on using
a button on the lower right of the player; look for the closed caption (CC) icon on the
button's menu. Also, you'll find a text version of what I say in the video below the player.
Now, here's what to do first:
* Click on the LM00 Begin Here Learning Module on the course home page for an orientation
to the course. Parts of this course may be very different from other online or face-to-face
courses you've taken, so please read the Begin Here learning module very carefully, page
by page. Even if you're someone who just wants to plunge in and get started, reading the
Begin Here module will save you a lot of confusion later on.
* Click on the Syllabus menu button on the left for the Syllabus/Complete Course Calendar
in PDF format. It's a long document, but please print it out and keep it handy all semester.
It's your only calendar for the course. * Be sure to purchase the textbook (Course
Reader for Philosophy 8) at the bookstore. If you haven't yet gotten your textbook, the
first three readings are in the "Begin Here" Learning Module in PDF format. A copy of the
book is on reserve in the main campus library and at the Chico Center.
Then, click on LM01 (Learning Module 1) and get started!
Enjoy!
