G'day everyone. My name is Daniel O'Grady and welcome to another
Wasabicars video. Today, I have a very special video.
I've been saving this up. But, before I say another word let's see it
and hear it in action. Hey??
I bet you enjoyed that. Okay, guys.
For those of you who don't know, the car is a 1970 Nissan Skyline GT Sedan.
The chassis code is GC10. And, GC10 refers to... sorry.
C10 is the series. G, means it's a GT.
It's not relavent here but if it's a coupe or a hardtop, it'd be KGC10.
This one, the sedan, GC10. I sound like R2-D2.
Anyway, I first became aware of this car through Youtube, searching for Hakosukas.
Hakosuka, that is the nickname of the car. Hako, is box, in Japanese.
Suka, su-ka, su-ka-ra-i-n, Skyline. That's where it comes from.
Hakosuka - a box Skyline. What was I saying?
Yeah, I became aware of this car and the owner this car through Youtube, searching away.
When I first started seeing it, it was in the process of being built.
So, this was about just under a year ago. Nine months, ten months ago.
I had the pleasure of bumping into the owner at a car show, and his car was there.
Well, you're looking at it. What a beautiful car it is.
And, that colour, that colour is so beautiful. Actually, one of my first interactions with
the owner was commenting on his videos, of course there's a link to his channel in the
description below, I was saying it looks like a pumpkin orange.
But, the colour is a legitimate Nissan colour. It is Safari Gold.
I've got to say it really suits this car. You always see them in that silver, silvery-gray.
It's such a common colour. And, I believe that this car up to a year
ago was that silvery-gray colour. So, he's gone for a change.
Safari Gold, it's a winner. I love it.
So nice. Wait until you see under the hood.
I say that because... of the colour. That gold against flashes of red.
Look at that GT-R badge. No, it's not a GT-R. I'm sure we've talked about this.
It's a GT, right? But anyway, flashes of red.
Hey, well let's check out under the hood. There it is.
I believe it's a 3 litre. It might have started out as an L28...
When I watch his videos he speaks in Japanese and I can't quite catch everything he says.
Looking at some his descriptions I believe it was a 2.8 litre that has been bored out
to 3 litres. I could be wrong. I've got to talk with the
guy to clarify that. Forgive me, guys.
Such a beautiful, neat engine bay. So clean.
And, naturally when it was getting its paint-job 10 months ago, the whole car was gutted.
The engine was out. Every part of the car that could be taken off was taken off.
So, it was a complete, thorough paint-job, which is so good to see.
Oh my god. So beautiful. It was so great to catch up with the owner
and to check out this car finally after seeing in videos all this time.
That was a great experience at a car show. So excellent.
Okay, guys. I'm going to leave it there, but I have a
question of the day. Recently, I've been doing these questions.
Because I want you guys to interact if you can or if you wish to.
I did say before that this car's nickname is Hakosuka, the box Skyline.
What I would like you to tell me... Is that a question?
Please tell me something. The question is, what is a nickname of a car
that you know? If you need to explain it, the nickname, what
the car is and an explanation as to why it is that.
Of course, Hakosuka is mine. My contribution. So, let me know, okay?
Thanks. Okay, guys.
Thank you so much for joining me. Take it easy. See you.
