What is Medicaid? It's help for senior citizens, the health insurance they get from Social
Security? Uh, it's the, isn't it like health plans for people, isn't it like, within this
country? Uh, Medicaid? It's something that is offered, um, to the elderly. It helps,
uh, individuals that cannot, well, the elderly or the uninsured like the babies or mothers
that do not have health care. Medicaid is the federal government's program. Ok. For
what? For health care. (Ding) And what do you have to do to be eligible for Medicaid?
I guess, be a U.S. citizen for one I would think. You would have to, I guess once you
reach retirement age. Medicaid is the, um, government sponsored health insurance for
the poor, (Ding) or poorer as opposed to Medicare which is for retirees. Yep. It's supposed
to be for people that can't afford health insurance. (Ding) It is for uninsured health
insurance. For people who can't afford their own health insurance. (Ding) Yep.
