Hi guys I'm bulldog, I'm 19 and I'm a rapper from the Gold Coast.
So Free You be You is just an anti-bullying campaign and music video
just pretty much getting the message out to the kids that
no matter what someone says on the outside or how much people judge you
you can always just be yourself, which is what the song is about
And the reason why I personally joined it was just because
Ever since I was a kid always went through bullying in primary school and throughout high school
saw the so this is a great chance for me to get my personal message across
to other kids that have been in the same shoes that I was in
and know that there are people out there that understand and that feel the way they feel
and that they can pull through it.
music's been something that I've done my whole life, pretty much since I was 6 or 7
I used to write songs.
It's just been a way that I've expressed myself, because back in high school
I did used to be overweight and had very bad acne
and kids used to always judge me on the outside and not get to know me.
People hid my bag around corners and
they would laugh at me, or put it up in a tree.
The group of people who used to pick on me in school, which were seen as the "cool kids"
They used to always like, get a group of them around a corner or something
and if I was walking on the oval or somewhere where there wasn't teachers around.
They'd all come and they'd pile on me and tackle me and they'd all jump on me and kick me and stuff.
I ended up breaking my collarbone twice throughout high school because,
they broke my bones and I told teaches, I told councillors
and I felt it didn't really fix anything because all the school would do
was just give them a detention.
So that's why I think it's important that people listen to this song because
theres kids out there that have been
in their position, and they feel like no ones helping them, no one even cares
you know stuff like that but people do care people have been in your position
and yeah, you CAN make a difference if you actual all chip in.
If I was to give any advice, I would just say focus on yourself,
keep doing what you're good at or even start something as an expression or
the way you express yourself or an outlet if you just keep focusing on yourself
eventually in time, it takes time to heal, but in time you will
get successful and then you will look back and you realise all the words
everyone's ever said to you, means absolutely nothing
and that you can actually be happy with who you are at the end of the day
