Hello,
I'm Dr. Neal Schultz
[pause]
And welcome to DermTV.
This is my third “Happy New Year” episode. I’m so lucky
to have been afforded this opportunity because you,
the viewers, are so receptive to, encouraging and reinforcing
of the goals of DermTV… to provide just the facts and the truth…
in a clear, concise message, without bias.
For this new year’s message, let’s talk about
what you can expect in the cosmetic dermatology “pipeline”
for 2012, and then I want to suggest one skincare
New Year's resolution.
To discuss the 2012 pipeline, let’s separate our cosmetic concerns
into three categories…
colors, textures and contours.
In the color category, you can expect new products
to fade and reduce brown discolorations,
whose active bleaching ingredients are peptides
and botanical extracts instead of hydroquinone…
Which, by the way, as you know, I believe is safe
in the over the counter products sold in the US,
although new peptides may be more effective.
Also in the color category, the elusive scramble
to find ingredients to reduce red will continue at a frenetic pace,
but unfortunately, there are still no hero products on the horizon.
Next, for your skin’s texture, for more lustrous, radiant
and glowing skin, glycolics will again be recognized as
the gold standard in chemical exfoliants
and will continue to grow in popularity.
In the third category… contours… non-invasive body contouring
and skin tightening will take center stage as botox and fillers
continue to be the staples of non-surgical treatment
for medium and deep lines and wrinkles.
So there are my 2012 predictions…
And now for a suggested resolution.
Just spend four minutes a day on improving your skin.
Because I promise you that if you follow the tips and advice
and use the products that I’ve discussed in the last
almost 400 episodes, you’ll finally have the radiant
and healthy skin you’ve always dreamed of.
So, with those predictions and resolution,
I and the entire DermTV family would like to wish you
healthy and beautiful skin and a wonderful New Year.
We hope 2011 was great and we hope that 2012
is even better.
Happy New Year!
