If you were to say what the predominant distribution model will be for the future of Africa, would
that be that they're cabling Africa? Would that be that they're satelliting Africa?Would
that be mobile? Would that be some combination of all those distribution characters? I think
all of the above because it's perfectly possible to talk about fibers to the home in a kind
of densely populated, quite rich, urban area. It's more convenient and quicker to talk about
DTH satellite and mobile with LTE will be in all urban areas and along the main routes
in 2 to 3 years time. So, it will be some combination of those 3 things that deliver
video content but what you have is the arrival of some thing like a dozen film and video,
online platforms for music and film. Of which, the largest two are iRoko in Nigeria and Buni
TV in Kenya. Those at the moment look like the two that are most likely to succeed but
much can happen over the next 3 to 5 years. Well thank you very much, Russell Southwood
from Balancing Act down in Africa. This is Frank Radice with our continuing series on
the Future of Content here at Red Touch Media. See you later.
