Besides labeling, each form element must have a logical order of Tab Index,
which determines the placement of the cursor each time the Tab key is pressed.
This step is very critical for users navigating the Web with a keyboard instead of a mouse,
to ensure that they can navigate from one form field, or question to another in a logical manner.
In this video, we are picking up where we left off,
Having corrected all of our form lables.
To make additional repairs to our forms.
Begin by clicking on Tools.
Then click on “Form Repair Utility.”
In the Form Utility Editor dialog box, scroll to the right to review the tab index order.
Notice that the numbers underneath the TabIndex column are not in order.
Scroll back to the left, and click on “textfield2” underneath the Field Name column.
Then click on the Field Properties button.
Change the Tab Attribute Value from 4 to 2 by clicking the down pointing spin box button 2 times.
Then click the Update Element button.
Click to select the next text field. “textfield3.”
Then click on the Field Properties button.
The Tab Index Attribute Value is 3. So we don’t need to repair this.
Let’s just click the Update Element button.
Click to select “textfield4.”
Then click on the Field Properties.
Change the Tab Attribute Value from 2 to 4 by clicking the upward pointing spin box button 2 times.
Then click the Update Element button.
Next, click the Finish button.
The Form Utility is complete and all the Tab Index orders have been corrected. So click the OK button.
