Hi, I'm David from Telstra and today I'll be showing you how you can use the CommManager
tool to set or change your phone and calling features.
In this video, I'll be taking you through setting up call forwarding, setting up simultaneous
ring and how to use the remote office feature.
To skip to the next or previous chapter in this video, use the youtube buttons below.
To get started, you'll need to download the application from the Digital Office Technology™
or DOT support page. Login with your username and password, which you can find in the configuration
summary email.
When you want to forward your calls to another number, go to the main screen and click the
call settings icon in the top right hand corner of the window.
The call settings window will appear. Select forward calls from the left hand menu.
That will open the forward calls window.
Next, click the 'edit' icon of the forwarding feature you'd like to use. You can find the
edit icon on the far right column.
A text field will appear for you to enter the phone number you'd like to forward to.
Click the 'enable service' checkbox and the 'save' button.
There are several forwarding features and the one you selected will show as 'enabled'.
If you'd like to disable a call forwarding feature, click the 'edit' icon, found on the
far right, and then click 'enable service' so that it is un-ticked.
Once you press 'save', the forwarding feature will show as 'disabled'.
Simultaneous ring lets you have up to ten phone numbers ring for a single incoming call
at the same time as your primary number. This feature helps ensure you don't miss incoming
calls and makes it possible to answer calls from other phones.
To setup the simultaneous ring feature, first go to the call settings window.
From this window, click 'simultaneous ring' in the left hand menu.
The simultaneous ring window will appear.
Enter the numbers you want to ring simultaneously, and click the checkbox next to 'enabled'.
Once you press the 'ok' button at the bottom of the page to save your changes, the simultaneous
ring feature will then show as 'enabled'.
Remote office lets you call out from any non-DOT landline or mobile phone, , displaying your
main DOT phone number.
Outgoing calls from the secondary phone will be billed to your DOT phone number, and incoming
calls to the DOT phone will be redirected to the secondary phone.
To change the settings of the remote office feature, go to the call settings window, click
'remote office' in the left hand menu. Then click the 'edit' icon on the far right side.
Tick the 'enable service' box and enter the number of the phone that you want to make
and receive calls from.
Once you've entered the number, click the 'save' button. The remote office feature will
then show as 'enabled'.
To use this feature, you have to dial calls through the CommManager application.
Here's how you do it.
In your contacts, find the person you want to call, or type in their number. Then click
the 'call from phone' icon.
The secondary phone you are calling from will ring and display your DOT phone number.
When you pick up the call, you will hear it calling the number you dialled from CommManager.
The person receiving the call will see your DOT phone number displayed.
