Hello everyone it’s Ari back here again!
Recently I’ve been getting a lot of requests for chocolate cake. Well great because I was just craving some!
Today’s recipe is so simple that you barely need any tools or skills to make this one!
How can I guarantee it? Well there’s only one way to find out!
Step 1 – Mixing the ingredients To make things even more simple, I’ve brought you a microwavable cake mix. (This is no oven baking!)
All you need is an egg and some water. Everybody has eggs in their fridge right?
Inside the box, there’s cake mix, oil, and a paper tray.
Mix the powder, egg, and water together, then add the oil and you’re pretty much done!
Even though there is a paper pan inside, let’s not waste it and just use a glass one I already have!
Reducing waste! Save the environment!
Step 2 – Panning and microwaving Now it’s time to pan out the mix.
After panning it you microwave it.
With this container it took me about 3 and half minutes, but for the rest of you, depending on your container, microwave it for 2 minutes at a time.
you all know the toothpick test right? Poke the dough and see it the toothpick comes out clean!
Take off the parchment paper and cool the cake off.
You can actually reuse the parchment paper. One more time!
Step 3 - Cake sheeting and printing hearts I now have two rectangular sheets. I’m going to use a heart shape cookie cutter.
Place a sheet of parchment paper between the cake and the cooling rack.
i have a total of 14 hearts!
How about we use some marshmallows to fill them!
I know I know. All of you are probably saying this is just too many calories!
But hey don’t worry. Everything is fine in moderation!
If the marshmallows are too large, cut them up like such. 75 g of marshmallows
Add one large spoon of water with them, then microwave them 30 seconds at a time to melt them.
Airs tip! Once they begin to melt, microwave them only 10 seconds at a time. Then place them in a piping bag.
Step 4 - Filling
Add a layer of the melted marshmallows to the cake sheets.
This was really enjoyable! The filling was bouncy and sticky! It felt good!
It’s kind of addicting! LOL
Now we need to cover them!
Step 5 - Adding Ganache
How about we add a bit of more flavor and looks?
I’m going to make ganache.
I decided to use dark chocolate but I ran out! :( So I decided to mix some other chocolates as well. 120 g of dark chocolate
Once the edge of the whipping cream begin to bubble, add in the chocolate chunks along with some starch syrup to complete the ganache.
120 g of whipping cream boil it under medium to low fire!
120 g of dark chocolate
15 ml of starch syrup
Now cover the sides of the cake with ganache. It was much easier doing it while holding them.
Now pour the rest of the ganache on the top. I must have taken too long as the ganache hardened a bit. I had to use a spatula to spread it.
Clean up the messy edges.
Now that the coating has finished, I’m going to use from flat jelly to make it look like wrapping ribbons. foot jelly - find it at your local candy store!
A single layer of jelly was a bit too thin so I had to use two layers. Just use some water and stick them together!
Measure out the length and it cut accordingly.
This is how I made my ribbons!
It was only a suggestion so you can make it however you’d like!
This is the ends of the ribbons. Use water as glue.
Let’s piece them all together now. Remember to stick them together with water!
Tada! My tasty ganache cakes are finished!
I made them bite size for some extra cuteness. Shall we see the middle?
How about it cut it in half?
Check out the bounciness!
Using cupcake liners with a larger bottom might be a good way to gift these!
