Hello everyone. Welcome to today's video. I am going to do
an unboxing review of the Play-Doh Sweet Shoppe candy jar playset for ages 3 and up. It comes with 19
candy accessories including
tools like the cutters you
can use with the play-doh. The playset also comes with 4
small play-doh cans in different colors that are shown here.
I thought this would be fun to do if you have children or if you work with
children this is a great toy to have.
I believe this was a little over $10 from Target using the
Target red card.
Since I purchased the playset online with the red card shipping was free
along with a 5% off discount.
I thought it was a really reasonable price. This is also available on Amazon.com, Walmart,
Toys R Us or
basically anywhere toys are sold.
I like play-doh because it's great for boys and girls,
it's very gender-neutral. Some of these playsets have themes
like trucks, cars or Disney
movie themes. This particular playset is part of the Sweet Shoppe
Collection.
I think it's good because it's very compact. There's the packaging
that I had already taken off and played with this before just to see how it was.
It's great to play with kids toys. Anyways, you can see the play-doh logo there and this is
the candy jar it comes in. All the items fit inside and it has a molding
here
as you can see I put that on upside down and the jar is flat on the bottom so it won't tip over. It's also great just for a
decoration as well and
looks really cute if you just set it out. It has all these different molds here
on the top which is kinda hard to pull off. You have to really
pull on the lid and then you can use the lid to make different shapes.
Here are the four play-doh cans. This is a light brown,
then yellow
neon pink
pinkish orange color.
It looks pink on camera.
And finally a light, sort-of neon blue
that shows up lighter on camera.
You have all these accessories and molds
inside that includes two plates.
One pink and the other is blue.
Those are really cute.
With this item you can make little circular shapes, cutouts
or you can use it to roll
some of the dough out. I'll do a demo in a little bit.
This is a little plastic knife that can be used to cut up the dough.
I wasn't sure what these were for. Maybe to make spaghetti.
Or maybe you can use it to make little
circular sprinkle things. I'll show you in a little bit
how to put on some of the different candy treats and stuff that you make.
Here is another one that is pink
down there. This looks like an little measuring cup.
I used it to make like a little tiny cupcake.
It kind of looks like the shape of a Reese's peanut butter cup. This is the bottom and this is the
top and then use one of the moldings like a cherry or whatever
to put on the top. The playset also has different
cookie cutters in different shapes like: this gingerbread man,
a floral shape,
really cute heart,
some other pattern, a star,
a little bone that looks like a little doggie treat.
This is cool if you wanna
make something
like soft-served ice cream.
Just put it in there and push it through and it comes out in that kind of pattern.
This molding here is a slice of pie with the crust. And what's
cool is you can put the different colors and if you don't mind
meshing your colors. This is a little
cake.
I'll just go ahead and dump the rest of the items out. Sorry if it's loud.
This looks kind of like a Twinkie shape,
a butterfly.
Another accessory to make sprinkles, spaghetti or whatever.
Here are some more topping molds,
a gingerbread house, some hard candy
molds here and that's it.
So those are all the pieces in the playset.
Now I do a demo show what some of the creations look like.
The doggie treat mold.
I'll start with the first mold as you can see I have already played with it.
This mold has a really nice brown color. I love the smell Plato,
reminds me of childhood. Just take a piece here
that might be too big. That much should be okay.
Just roll the mold up into a ball.
As I go through the demo you can see how the playset accessories works to make creation and how easy it
is to use.
Let me
adjust the camera.
Now I am going to go ahead and use this piece
to roll the play-doh out.
Sorry if my jewelry is making too much noise.
This piece helps you roll out the play-doh like that.
I'm probably making it harder than it actually is
with all of the jewelry in the way.
Now you can just take late this more
and fit it over the play-doh like that.
When you pull it up
that is the shape it makes and this comes right off.
There you go, it almost looks like a little doggie treat.
It cuts pretty well.
What's fun is that you can decorate it. We'll go ahead and take this
really bright yellow color.
And then just take a little bit of this mold.
Just a tiny bit, you don't need much. Let me show you what
this does or what I was trying to figure out what it does.
Kind of put it over like that and
try to squeeze it through.
It makes these little shapes here. You can just pull them off
and use them to decorate
whatever little candy
mold you made. Just pull them off of here
like that or you can even pull them through this thing
which sometimes is hard to do. You might have to use
the other play-doh pieces to
pull it out. This is because I'm doing it fast and incorrect or whatever but
it makes these little tiny pieces that look like sprinkles.
Probably a bad demo but anyways I think you get the idea of
what you can use that for. It's probably just a matter of putting a little more
of the play-doh on there
and watching me make a mess.
After I pick up these remaining pieces I'll show you some other moldings
and stuff like that.
Let me quickly do this
and get it out of the way. Next, I'm going to use some of the moldings here. We'll start
with this
little gummy bear shape and I am
going to use two different colors for the head and the body seeing how
real gummy bears are usually multi-colored.
Let's take this mold out.
To make this easier to get out make sure you shape the play-doh somewhat before you put it back in the can.
We'll use
this for the head. Roll it up into a ball
and put it in this mold.
Perhaps I should move some of that up
and then press it back down.
Then take this pink play-doh .
Look at that color so cute,
bright and fun. Then roll it up into a ball
and put it here. Hope you don't mind I'm kind of mashing them together a little
bit.
Let's see how that came out.
That looks really cute and then you just
pull these other little pieces off.
You can smash it down if it is too small to use the cutting
tool to make it more precise.
Here's a little gummy bear in two different colors
that's pretty cute. Let's make something else.
We'll use the blue play-doh again
to demo this little house shape.
This is a lot thicker so you might need a little bit more play-doh.
Just go ahead and press the play-doh in like that
and then pull the play-doh back.
Sometimes when you pull the play-doh back it well help create the
shape. Then use your finger and pull it out
like this. Look how detailed that comes out.
A cute blue little house.
Then
we'll use this color that looks kind of like an ice cream color.
I'll show you how this comes out
after I move these other pieces out of the way.
Rolling the play-doh into a
cylinder shape
small enough to be able to fit into the mold.
Maybe even a bit smaller.
Fit the play-doh into the mold like that and then take
this piece and push it in.
When you push it out
you'll see the shape and
form that it makes.
A good trick to do if the play-doh is coming out
cracked a little bit
as you can see right there you can
soften the play-doh by putting some
water in there so it will come out with smoother
ridge's. From there
you can fold it up
to make
ice cream swirls.
You can also put a topping on it or whatnot.
Then with these little plates
you can use them to create a display
of some of your candies and other food creations.
Next I'll show how to make cute little cupcakes.
Start by putting
some play-doh in this mold here.
Then
pull it out.
Use this little cupcake portion.
Then use some of the blue play-doh.
Put the play-doh in this mold
and make a
little cupcake shape.
We'll fix it up a little bit so it's not so smooth
and round.
Place it on the first piece we made like that.
Now we'll make a little cherry as a topping using
this molding shown here.
Then we will use this swirl shaped design
by putting the smoother side of the play-doh in the mold.
Now I'll pop the play-doh out like that.
The design is a lot more detailed but because the lighting it does
show the fully level of detail of the mold.
Now I'll pull the excess pieces off and put our cherry on top.
So there is our cute little cupcake.
Overall this play-doh set is really fun for kids and adults.
Also, the set comes with really bright colors.
Of course you can always purchase more play-doh in different colors and
mix them to make whatever creation you want. So that is the Play-Doh Sweet Shoppe
Candy Jar Set. It usually retails for a little over ten dollars and it is available at most
retail stores. Thank you for watching and I'll see you again next time. Bye.
