We all know the famous saying that history repeats itself,
but few people would have imagined the architectual return to trends
from more than five thousand years ago.
The architectural firm, Timelinks, in Dubai,
has created an interesting project based on the ancient temples called Ziggurats.
Ziggurats began to be built around 3,000 BC in the region of Mesopotamia.
Using the basic idea of the pyramid structure,
Timelinks has created renderings of a 100% self-sustainable
and totally enviornmentally-friendly superstructure.
The city is planned to house more than one million inhabitants.
Another unique feature is their idea of an urban transport system,
that transports horizontally and vertically throughout the city,
making cars completely unnecessary.
The Ziggurat serves as a perfect example of how we are able to use innovations from our past
and today's technology to create new advancements in our society.
