Hi Durai. Thank you for spending your time with us
This is an interview to get youths opinion about Malaysia. Shall we proceed?
Sure, what do you wanted to know?
Thank you. Malaysia had her independence for almost 56 years.
In your opinion what are the problems that we as a citizen facing in this country?
There are lots of problem plaguing our country.
Car, house and living cost are getting higher and higher but out income is still low.
Car, house and living cost are getting higher and higher but out income is still low.
Public transportation is not efficient. Student and workers who relies on public transportation are affected due to this.
Student and workers who relies on public transportation are affected due to this.
Trains especially are not on time and due to this workers often late for work.
Lack of opportunity among school leavers who did not do well in studies leads them to bad influence.
This is why criminal rate among our community is high.
Apart from this, we have IC issue. Many children whose parents are Malaysian Citizen having this problem.
Due to this, they couldn't even go to school.
That’s quite a list of problem
This is exactly why the government is giving RM 500 through Bantuan Rakyat 1 Malaysia.
Don’t you think this is good enough?
BR1M ah?
RM 500 enough for one year is it?
Do you think RM 500 per year can solve the problems I listed down earlier?
errr…
The present government is doing so much for Indians.
Fund are given to build Tamil schools and temple
More opportunities and loan facility are given for higher studies.
Through MyDaftar, government is trying to solve IC problems.
What is your opinion about this?
Government is doing all this because they are scared that Indians might vote them off like how they did on last election right?
Why is that now only the government starts caring about Indians? What they were doing before this ?
It been 56 years since we achieve our Independence? But only recently, that the government started to concentrate on Indian's issues.
If the Government gives proper attention since day 1, wouldn’t we have a better life right now?
Do you know how many Malaysian Indians are still stateless? You are saying MyDaftar is devise to solve this problem.
However, till today this problem haven't solved yet. Why ?
Why this is happening? The root of this problem is due to red tapes practices in the NRD offices.
Why can the government simplify the verification and registration process for these people? Why is the government making their life hard?
Recently there were news about RCI on immigrant on Sabah and project IC.
It shows that immigrants are getting IC within 3 months. How this can happen when locally born needed to wait till they are 70 or 80 years old to get IC from PM Najib
What they gonna do with IC at that age ?
Education...
There are 2 entrance exams to enter public university. One is through STPM and another one through Matriculation
Why do we need 2 systems when we can have single system instead?
The matriculation requires student to sit for one year program meanwhile STPM requires 2 years to enter university.
Due to this, those who enter University with STPM will graduate one year later.
Why do we need this unfair education system?
Why can’t the government provide free education for all?
What is lacking in our country till we can’t afford to provide free education?
When German, Cuba, Argentina are giving free education, why can’t we?
Instead of comparing these countries, our government is still comparing with Thailand and Myanmar. Isn’t our economy far better than theirs?
It’s agreeable that through PTPTN, many people have opportunity to further their studies especially in private institution.
However we must also realize that through PTPTN, student are also burdened with huge debt.
The government needs to spend a lot of money to provide free education. Government where got that much of money...How la ?
What happened to the revenue that we get from petroleum and palm oil?
If Government don’t have money, how come projects like NFC and PKFZ can take place
Both this projects turn out to be scandal later part.
When PM Najib took over, he announced a RM 5 Billion worth of project called Menara Warisan.
So if they can spend this much of money for these projects, why can’t they spend for free education?
Take a look on yearly Auditor General Report. RM 3 stuff is overpaid at RM 80. This is clearly a ridiculous way of spending
Why this kind of wastage of public fund is not controlled. This is corruption.
Therefore free education is possible if we can reduce corruption.
Let’s go to next question
Let’s talk about car prices since that’s the hot topic at the moment
If car prices are lowered, the foreign cars will become cheaper and this can affect local car’s market
Who else would support our local product if we wouldn’t?
If car prices are made cheaper, how would local car going to compete with foreign car?
Besides that, if cars are cheaper, more cars will be on road and therefore contribute to traffic congestion. What is your opinion this?
Why should we pay higher than the actual price for someone else to survive?
I‘m not saying not to support Malaysian car industry
But what going to stops people from buying Malaysian car, if their quality is worth the money spent.
I myself bought a Malaysian car to support our local car industry. However within month, there were defects.
Even though foreign cars are overpriced by RM20-30K than local car, we can see an obvious difference on their quality.
Honda City’s actual cost is about RM 50 K but it is sold at RM 90 K in our country.
Additional RM 40 K is for tax alone and they said this is to protect local car industry.
If cheaper car will lead to traffic congestion, shall we ride bicycle instead?
Cars are not like grocery item where we are not going to buy in excess just because it’s cheaper.
Instead of blaming the number of cars, public transportation should be improved and roads should be widen
Why are you complaining so much even though government has done a lot for people?
Everyone has problem. Even Government has problem too.
However government didn’t forget the people. Lots of programs being devise for people. For an example:
Even though government did all these, why aren’t you being grateful to government?
Why should we be grateful to government in first place? They are the one that should be grateful to us.
We pay tax and vote them. Therefore they should work for us
We voted them based on trust that they will improve our living standard and our nation as whole
However, the reality is far than what being pictured.
Living cost, petrol and toll expenses are increasing. Could we afford to buy a house and car on present situation ?
40 % of Malaysian household income is still below RM 1500. With RM 1500, can we afford to raise and educate a child?
Or can we afford a house or car with RM 1500?
Even public transportation expenses will be a burden for those who earn RM 1500.
Why the living expenses are are increasing day by day? Is this is what we are expecting from our government?
Let’s look at Tamil school…
Mainstream newspaper often reports on Government providing allocating millions of fund for Tamil school development. Photos of politician holding mock cheques are easily spot-able.
But what is the breakdown for all these allocation.
Try check the school and you will see that the school is still in deplorable state.
Schools in Sabah and Sarawak is even worse...
Children are still studying “Pondok / Atap School” without proper facilities.
How can these kids do well with this kind of learning environment?
I’m not the only one who says this. Everyone else is aware of this.
What can we do to change this scenario?
Enough is enough !!
Let’s be a smart voter from now onwards
Let’s analyze which government can do great things for the citizen and let’s vote for them
Don’t just vote politician just because you are getting handouts from them and make our rakyat’s life hard.
