Hello, I am Deniss. I am initially from Russia.
- I am a freelance author and director.
And I am very interested in dreams.
The documentary film "Looking for Ringo" is about someone following his dream -
Viktor Golishnikov, a Russian hairdresser.
He has a really special dream:
He wants to open up a hairdresser's shop in Moscow
bearing the name of former Beatles member Ringo Starr.
Where does this idea come from?
Since his youth Victor has been a great Beatles fan
and was fascinated by western culture
- hairstyles, clothing and of course the music of the Beatles
One day he stumbled upon an interview
in which Ringo Starr said that he would have liked to open a hairdresser shop
if he had not been able to continue his career as a musician.
This interview was from the sixties
and for decades Viktor had completely forgotten about it.
But at the end of the nineties he found another interview
in which Ringo Starr stated
that he was still thinking about opening up a hairdresser shop.
And then it struck Viktor.
Ringo Starr's dream became Viktor's dream.
He was thoroughly settled to open up a hairdresser shop in Moscow
together with Ringo Starr.
But he needed the approval of Ringo Starr.
To get this Viktor tried many ways.
He wrote letters to all known addresses,
he tried to pass the letters on through various contacts -
but even after fifteen years of tedious search,
Viktor is not giving up and is convinced of his idea.
I have known Viktor for 15 years now
and I was always surprised how strongly he believes in his dream
and how his passion did not diminish over the years.
I found it very fascinating and I think that the world needs such dreams and dreamers.
And in movies I want to make such dreams possible.
In our movie we want to take part in Viktor's next steps towards his big dream
and hope that he will find Ringo Starr and a pair of open ears.
For this we need your support.
very movie needs money and since this will be a big documentary project
we are dependent on the financing of the big TV broadcasting channels.
But to convince those channels we need a production trailer
in which we can present Viktor.
But for this trailer we do not have the money.
On Startnext you can find some Thank-Yous for your financial support.
Please have a look through them, there are different offers.
And if you do not have any money now you can share this video,
tell your friends about this project- this type of support is exactly as important.
Also we would love it if you would take part on our project as well.
If you have any ideas on how Viktor could contact the big Star - shoot!
Share your ideas and thoughts and maybe they will be part of the movie too.
Thank You!
