We'd also like to point out - if you missed it when you came in -
there's something at the front here called a fact sheet that has a few facts.
And there's lots more facts out there. I'm sure you have lots of your own.
On the back of the fact sheet, we have put the premier's office number
and the office number of Mary Anne Jablonski. If you use the 310-0000 number,
it won't cost you any money. Give 'em a call.
Let 'em know what you're thinking! [cheering]
We'd also like you to check out, and join, the Albertans Who Care website.
It's a collection of people who are in caring professions, across the province,
who are using that to get information out. So, check them out and join them.
And, there's also the attempt to put together a professional association
for people who work in PDD fields. So, check that out on, it's disabilityworkers.ca.
Check that out. I'd just like to call out attention to one
of the points on the fact sheet, at the bottom. A number of years ago the government created
something they called a "Sustainability Fund". Every MLA that we went to visit, when we said
our wages aren't enough, said "We have to put a third of the money into
the Sustainability Fund." And that was, quote - I'm quoting them -
to protect the government's program and infrastructure spending plans from unexpected drops in revenue
and the costs of an emergency. If there is a deficit
(which, I don't know about) this is the place where the government should
be going for funds rather than cutting the vulnerable citizens of Alberta.
[cheering]
So, I think we're done. We still haven't sold anything.
So, uh, anybody who has a big chequebook, we're willing to take your money.
Otherwise, we really encourage you to do three things.
Call the Premier's office, call the Minister's office
and join the Albertan's Who Care campaign. We can make a difference folks.
So, thank-you. [cheering]
