600 dancers, a 600-voice choir, 60-piece symphony orchestra
and a big band with James Morrison —forget High School Musical, this is Creative Generation
and with 38 action-packed acts, school performances don't get much bigger.
(John-Paul Langbroek, Minister for Education, Training and Employment)
What we have got here is a fantastic opportunity for Queensland state school kids.
They get to meet artists like James Morrison and Luke Kennedy
people they have seen on television and who they know have worldwide reputations.
They get to see kids from other schools, they get to interact with them and their enthusiasm is infectious.
(Morgan, DETE TV) Performers have tripled since the show began nine years ago
singers, dancers and musicians from more than 100 schools, as far away as Weipa.
The youngest is aged just two.
12 semi-trailers, 20 tonnes of gear, 200 technical crew
and more audio mixers than a U2 concert.

A real-life learning experience sending students onto the world stage
all the way to Broadway.
It's one of the sort of biggest productions that I've ever worked on
you know, as far as the number of people in the show
but also the technical aspects of it, it's just sensational
so you know to give kids of all ages the opportunity to get up there
and be involved in a production like this is amazing.
And it's on national TV. It's incredible.
Everyone loves it.
It's an amazing experience for everybody. It's awesome.
Creative Generation is like show and tell for what we learnt at school today
— only bigger, better and for the world to see.
