Now we're going to talk about the different types of tints that you can apply to your
sunglasses. If you're going to put prescription lenses into your sunglasses then you have
now a multitude of different options that you can tint your lenses to. First I'm going
to talk about solid tints. It's just the same color, the same texture, the same deepness
of tint throughout the lens. I'm just going to show you a few different options of these
tints, just different textures of the tent here. These all can be done as different levels
of the darkness. You can tint, a solid tint can be done and we do it in grades of one
through four, one being the lightest and four being the darkest. So if somebody says I want
the darkest sunglass possible then we're going to leave the lens in the tint tank for the
longest period of time and generally it's a dye process that soaks, the lens soaks up
the tint. If you wanted the darkest tint possible then we just leave it in there for roughly
about an hour and a half and usually that lens will take that tint. If you wanted fairly
light, this is an example of a solid very light tint, somebody who's just looking to
maybe take the glare off the lenses off their eyes. So that's something that's just very
basic that we would just leave in there for fifteen minutes and have the patient try out
and make sure it did what they wanted it to do. Something like this is a solid tint, but
it's just meant to kind of take the glare off while something like this, a solid tint,
maybe even a little bit darker than this, is going to be more of a sunglass and be more
for outdoors completely.
