So now that you've chose Sac State,
how are you going to get around?
The choice is yours.
"It's very convenient to walk to class. "
"I get around with a car. "
"Bike or I'll take the shuttle or the bus somewhere."
"Don't even have to waste gas, everything is here. "
"And there's Amtrak too really close. "
You can take mass transit like the bus or light rail.
You can drive here or carpool with someone else.
You can ride your bike or you
can walk if you live close enough.
Sacramento State operates its own bus system
called the Hornet Express for students, faculty and staff.
It's free for students with the One Card
and it goes to neighborhoods surrounding the campus.
City buses also have routes that bring you to the school.
And the light rail station
is just a few blocks from campus.
Many of you will drive here,
but you'll have to purchase a permit to park on campus
or you'll get a ticket.
Where you live is up to you also.
some students live on their own
and some students live on campus.
"What I like is convenience, it's real close to classes,
so you can wake up about twenty minutes before class
and get there."I've made some of my closest friends
from people living next door so it really fun. "
Sac State's residence halls house about 1,100 students.
Each hall has a lounge, study rooms, laundry room and a pool.
There's even a dining hall for
breakfast, lunch and dinner.
The University also has a new off campus residence community
called the 65th Street lofts.
The units have high open ceilings, large living
spaces and full kitchens with modern appliances.
However you find your way on campus
and wherever you decide to live,
Sac State is a great place to learn and grow.
