fight for a healthy life.
Joining us this morning
is Nayla Wilmore and

Sandra Stenen. Nayla
Wilmore 5 Time Cancer
Survivor Sandra Stenen
Owner,
Serenity and Massage 5
time cancer survivor
, breast, ovarian and
cervical. Practicing
massage for 23
years and a jazz singer.
Went back into doing
massage full
time and music part time
. I can still sing and
perform part time around
the island/private
functions. Chose massage
full time now since
cancer has changed my
life, I love to help
people through the power
of healing touch. Learned
oncology massage to help
myself heal with scar
tissue/ circulation after
treatments. I can now
help others who are
survivors, or who are
still on their journey to
survive. Cancer free for
9 years! 1. How does
massage benefit those who
have cancer or survived
cancer. Increased
circulation boosts
immune system healing
touch and psychological
peace of mind stimulates
endorphins which helps
alleviate stress and
manage pain more
effectively. 2. What
types of cancers are
contraindicated and why?
Any type of bone cancers
that can cause bone
fractures with any
directional pressure for
its fragility. Any type
of cancer that has
endangerment areas where
tumors or growths are
more likely to metastasis
and stimulate
inflammation or
dysfunction in organs. 3.
Do you need to ask a
doctor for their opinion?
Every patient should
obtain written permission
if they are eligible or
contraindicated to
receive massage. Patients
are in different stages
of their cancer and
experience variable
conditions, therefore
should consult their
physician for
instruction. We can offer
the membership rate for
the cancer patients
during the month of
October at both our
Hawaii Kai and Ward
locations, we can also
offer them a free
initiation if they choose
to become members during
October as well.
