Hi! My name is Brennen Blotner, I'm fifteen years old,
I am a bass (and proud of it), and I hail from Johns Creek Georgia.
The first selection that I will be singing is
Ed Sheeran's "The A Team." White
lips, pale face, breathing in the snow
flakes, burnt lungs, sour taste.
Light's gone,
day's end, struggling to pay rent,
long nights, strange men.
And they say she's in the Class
A team stuck in her daydream
been this way since 18 but lately her face seems
slowly sinking wasting crumbling like pastries and they scream that the worst things
in life come free to us 'cause
she's just under the upper hand and goes mad for a couple grams.
She don't wanna go outside tonight.
And off she'll fly to the mother land and
sell love to another man. It's too cold outside
for angels to fly. The second selection that I'll be singing is
"I Need Your Love" by Calvin Harris featuring Ellie Goulding. I take a deep
breath every time I pass your door.
I know you're there but I can't see you anymore,
and that's the reason you're in the dark.
I've been a stranger ever since we fell apart.
And I feel so helpless here,
watch my eyes are filled with fear,
tell me do you feel the same?
Hold me in your arms again. I need your love,
I need your time. When everything's wrong,
you make it right. I feel so high,
I come alive. I need to be free with you tonight,
I need your love. Scales going

And now here's a little bit beatboxing.
Just a few miscellaneous skills,
as far as instrument imitation - Kevin Olusola from Pentatonix, he
sometimes does a trumpet imitation
and I also fortunately have the ability to do that,
like:
or if I put that in my bass register it could pass off for a trombone
like:
Also, I can
double tongue, so if I were assigned the role of a
beatboxer then if we were doing a fast selection then
I could put that to good use like:
you know. Just a little bit about me and why I would LOVE to be a
part of the A Cappella Academy
I believe that it would give me more by chance to explore the a cappella world,
if you will. Music is all I've been doing since I could speak; my parents actually
told me stories of -
they would wake up to me standing in my crib singing I've been working on the
railroad, so
I've been doing music for as far back as I remember, and that's still I'm doing
today.
Music is my life, music ins my passion, and I know a lot of people say that but I
believe -
I know that I truly mean that. If I were given the
absolute honor being a part of the A Cappella Academy, I believe that I would
contribute
a positive mindset, I would bring my fair share to the table,
and I would also provide a bass note to every chord because, you know, you kinda need
that
Also, it'd be a privilege to work under Pentatonix,
Ben Bram, and everyone else who's going to be doing workshops and classes
at the A Cappella Academy. long story short I believe that
I do have a gift, and not to sound conceited or anything,
but I actually believe that I have a gift
and I want to share this gift with everyone and people from around the
nation who share the same gift
and I just want to learn as much as possible from as many people as I can.
Thank you so much for your consideration, and I hope to see you this July!
