Hi Everyone, Today I'm going to show you how to fix a broken nail
I haven't had the best luck with my nails this week
They were just around the perfect length, a little bit of tip but not too long
But unfortunately it broke when I was trying to dig through some boxes
And as you can see, it broke below the nail tip which means it's going to be uncomfortable for a few days before it grows out
And also it's such a shame that usually when one nail breaks, you probably end up cutting the rest as well
But before you do that, here is something you could try
Whether it's to let your nails grow out a bit more, or if you have a special event which you want your nails to look good for
And your nails conveniently broke just before it, this is a little temporary fix that will be able to keep your nails long for a few extra days
Here are the tools you will need. Some Scissors, a tea bag, nail glue and a nail buffer
First cut out a little section from the tea bag around half a cm wide
Then open that up and shorten that piece to a little bit longer than the area you are fixing
Place it on the nail to see if it covers the area. We want to cover a bigger area to secure it better
Next use some nail glue and cover up the area on the nail where you will be placing the tea bag
Place the cut out over the glue and it will immerse into it
While that is still wet, move the piece around the nail and make sure you push the edge right to the side so you can mend the broken areas
If you leave a gap, then the crack on the side will tend to catch onto things and rip open the nail again
let that sit for about 30min to an hour until it dries and becomes hardened
Now that the nail has been mended. Everything should work as normal
you won't catch any hairs on the cracks no more and it is fairly strong and secure
Just to fix up the cosmetics a little bit. Use a nail buffer and buff away the edges of the bits that's sticking out
Do not over buff, the material used is already very thin, if you buff too much, it might undo all your hardwork
So just try to only get the edges of the patch so it blends inwith the natural nail
When you're done it should look something like this. The edges are smoothed out, but the middle section holding the nail together is still raised.
Now check that the nail is still strong. And apply your manicure as normal with base coat and base color
you shouldn't be able to tell that you actually broke your nails. no one will be non the wiser
If for some reason your nail broke off completely or you just need a little bit more support for your nail tips, apply a fake nail on top
That way, you can keep the length of your other fingers and still have a nice set of mid or long length nails
