When you become a Penn State student, you will get asked all the time, What does Penn
State pride mean to you? A lot of people will say it means family. A lot of people will
say it means togetherness. For me, I cant really describe what Penn State pride means
to me, its more like a feeling. Its a sense of belongingness, its a sense of, you know,
when you walk in a room youre going to see familiar faces and youre going to be able
to, you know, hey can you help with this project, or hey do you want to grab some lunch. Its
a sense of belongingness and home. One of the things about Penn State that I
like is that I take pride in the university. One of things that is really important to
me is seeing the alumni. People that were Penn State students in the past that have
graduated and having that connection and that bond with them being Penn State students and
graduating from the same university. Like going up to University Park, and seeing the
stadium full of people from college age to seventy years old still just, you know, blue
and white all the way. So I think thats one of the main things about pride that I like
about Penn State. Penn State pride to me is about going to class
and getting good grades in your classes and taking care of all of your academics. Being
involved on campus in the all the different clubs and activities. Taking part in the basketball
games, football games, all the different things you can do that you can show your pride, display
your colors, and be proud to be a true penn stater.
Penn State pride, it represents a family. You know, the love we share, the caring compassion
towards others. Its also. Its almost when the blood that runs through your veins turns
from red to blue and white. Its a feeling.
