Hey, I'm Salim Jernite, CEO & Cofounder of Clevy
Clevy is a tool made for large companies
to easily create chatbots that
automatically answers common questions
our clients use Clevy mainly to create HR bots
IT support bots, bots about GDPR,
and any topics with frequent questions
Design was simple and efficient, it was bare bones, a MVP design
It worked, but it didn't look like a professionnal tool
we were not in the "big league" yet
Because we are in the B2B market, our look-and-feel should reflect our professionalism
our clients are large companies
Which means we are competing with companies with more funds than us
who have been creating digital products for longer than we have
so we had to reach a higher level to be able to compete
On top of that, the big promise of Clevy
and the reason why we think one day
we will prevail in the market is because we created a tool
extremely simple to use for all chatbot admins
They are not tech savvy,
nor developpers, they are people of the profession, like 50 years old HR assistant,
Or a Project Owner assistant etc... in other word people who are not supposed to know ****
how to use a new tool, they have a huge resistance to change
Those people are not supposed to understand complicated concepts
such as chatbot technology
it is made of many algorithms
and many complicated concepts
so our major challenge through UX and UI design was to transform those complicated concepts
into dead simple tools, that even a 8 years old child could use
and it was a pretty big challenge
at the first meeting, we can show directly our product to prospects
with the previous version we couldn't, but now we can
we have proof and people are more interested in what we do
we can make beautiful videos
during the sale, what you need to know is that in a B2B market, clients also buy
for fun, so they buy something beautiful
even if they don't understand every features
they prefer buy something beautiful because they know that
they will be congratulated when they are going to show it to their boss
so it makes things easier for us, and the "wow" effet
is really "wow”, while before
it wasn’t "wow” at all
the third impact is an impact on operations, on the deployement part
now that we can use the product
without needing an explanation, thanks to the work
on the onboarding that we've done together
so once a new client is signed,
the account manager spends a lot less time than before,
we used to spend 20 days per client or pilot to setup the product
and today we only spend 3 days, so for a startup
it is quite an improvement
It went really well, I think your bigger strength it's to
understand really quickly the challenge of complicated products
and it's great because it means that you can challenge us,
it means that we can start working from day 1, it means that we don't have
to explain a lot for you to understand
the product, etc...
Design today keeps improving
we added features, the product is still very simple even with more features
but we kept the same UX and UI principles
that you suggested to us ****
and that we created together during the mission
