Hi, my name's Lee Perkins. I'm a physical therapist and founder of HandsOnRemedy.com.
Today I'm going to talk about Quadriceps Tendonitis and why you should consider physical therapy
as your first option in the healing process. Quadriceps Tendonitis occurs when the tendon
at the top of your kneecap gets stressed, inflamed and even torn. This tendon attaches
the quadriceps muscle to the kneecap allowing you to straighten your knee out and stabilize
your leg during everyday movements. When this tendon is injured, the Quadriceps muscle function
can be compromised making you knee feel weak and somewhat unstable. Quadriceps Tendonitis
can also be extremely painful making it challenging to perform activities during your day; like
climbing stairs, squatting to the floor and even getting dressed in the morning can be
difficult. With early Physical Therapy treatment, you
can maximize your function quickly and cost effectively. On the first visit, your Physical
Therapist will perform differential diagnostic testing to determine your exact condition.
You should then expect a hands-on treatment incorporating specialized techniques to help
get the results you need. Your therapist will also provide a home exercise program specific
to your injury and the training to perform those exercises correctly. Our goal as therapists
is the same as yours; heal quickly and heal permanently. The information you see on our
website and this video should NOT be used to determine your own condition. You should
seek medical advice from a qualified professional first. Find your Physical Therapist now at
HandsOnRemedy.com, and best wishes for a speedy recovery.
