When I got out of the Marine Core, I needed a job.
There's a lot of veterans out there who do not have work...especially just getting out
of the military.
After doing 22 years, sometimes it's a little harder, because you've been something for
so long.
I was transitioning back into, you know, day to day life. I was without a job.
When you leave the service, you miss your men...you miss the tempo of operations. When
you look at our current veterans come back from service around the world, especially
our injured warriors, for Bank of America to reach out to them and embrace them and
bring them onboard...it means a lot.
Bank of America is a large company and we have a large responsibility. We're duty-bound
to bring veterans back in successfully to the civilian workforce.
Good morning everyone!
Good morning!
How you doing today?
Well, I'm just glad to work for a company that's willing to put itself out there and
say we're motivated to hire people who need these jobs, you know, who are ready to work...and
a lot of the people who work for me have looked for jobs for 10 or more years before ending
up here, and so they're extremely motivated.
I'm asking for more work and trying to have a positive attitude and trying to encourage
my fellow coworkers. Military service members have a lot to offer.
Really, their core values- trust, teamwork, and integrity- align perfectly with Bank of
America's core values.
What you get with hiring veterans are people who are already natural leaders- they've grown
and developed and they have a sense of wanting to take charge and really make something better.
We have got over 6,000 reservist and veterans employed at Bank of America. We want them
to get more than just a job, but really a career, and become future leaders at Bank
of America.
I'm part of a team, part of a group of dedicated people that has to get this project done.
I like that.
To know I'm with other veterans who, you know, have stood on a line, is a great honor to
me.
I'm excited, you know, I've had 14 years of service now with the military and I hope to
make this a long-term career with the Bank, as well. The possibilities are endless and
I just look forward to seeing where that goes.
