Hey everyone it's Liam here from Movie Figures - moviefigures.co.uk
and today I want to show you one of
my favorite prop replicas of all time. It's the t-800 endoarm
Now there's been a few of these over the years
The one I had before was the
one from Sideshow Collectibles which was chrome addition very rare. I think there were
500 in the world and they are super rare now
in that you will pay a lot of money for them they originally sold about five hundred
dollars I think
and I had one few years back I sold and sold it for about twelve hundred
pounds
so nice return on investment. So these
limited edition collector pieces when you get one this officially licensed by the
manufacturer
against the film..um they tend to be
quite good pieces to actually keep. And they will grow in value over time
so this one I would expect to grow in value so
there any 750 of these ones made by Hollywood
Collectibles Group. I think it's a better arm than the sideshow one and I'll show you why
in a minute I'm so yeah I'm really excited about these
I've only got a few in at moviefigures.co.uk and I was really lucky to get them
so if you want one come and have a look
Price wise in the UK they're just under 700 pounds
so the retail price in US is 750
dollars to bear in mind when you import into the UK you've got the import fees, the
shipping fees... it's a big item. It comes in a big box which I'll show you in a minute
but um the first thing I want to do I'm just gonna
put this to one side and pop the packaging up just so you can see that as that's one thing I think they did a
really good job on
is the packaging first and then we'll come back to the arm so I'll just pause this
and then we'll grab the packaging and then come back to the arm
arm
OK so let's have a look at the packaging that you get
you get a brown outer box, you get a black inner box
The black inner box...
you probably don't want to have it on display but it does say t2 t-800 endoarm on it.
and you then get
the polystyrene inner stuff now what I really liked about this was the quality of the
packaging because
everything was nicely protected. You see some prop replicas where
it's a nice pop replica but it gets to you damaged or scratched because it's
not been very well packaged
this one the arm itself... the hand
digits were all separated with bits of foam
let's just show you the sort of stuff...
so little bits like this... and
inbetween the digits little bits like this for the bigger parts
and bits like this for even bigger parts. So that was really cool to see.
that was all nicely in
place on the arm itself the
arm was then wrapped in that bigger tube, the
one that you can see here. That was then
taped together, put inside the acrylic tube
the acrylic tube was then put inside the bigger box
and that had again taped up with these around it to protect it
the box sealed over and taped....
that box inside
Black box and that black box covered in a polythene bag
and put into the brown box and the brown box taped.
the really good thing is that this replica comes really well wrapped
which is good news cos you can see made in China like so many things nowadays
shipped to US. from US to us in the UK or wherever
anyone was lucky enough to get hold of one. So really
big thumbs up to the Hollywood Collectibles Group for
doing that because its um a pretty good
Job. So what I'm gonna do now
is
have a look and the actual arm itself
so let's talk about the arm then. What is
good about this arm, what is bad if anything
Um I think it's a brilliant, brilliant version because
unlike the um one that you get from Sideshow
one of the things that really annoyed me about the sideshow one was you didn't get
a tube that covered the arm
My one came with a tube that
some guy found somewhere but it wasn't long enough so he put this extender on the
base that looked
really rubbish so er it's really nice that they have
a custom tube made cos it's fairly easy to get
you know like a tube without the top on but it's
very hard to get the top covered
without spending a lot of money cos I looked for ages for a
proper size one for mine and just never found one that wasn't ridiculous money
so um really nice that they've had that done
it's the length and the particular width because as we go down
you see it needs to sit nicely around this part of the base
um which this one does so that's really cool
that it's got the acrylic tube so it will keep all the dust and
dirt off it and you can hopefully see on here if I zoom in a bit
but the second thing about this the um
Sidshow one was pretty clean. It was very highly polished
so it looked pretty but it didn't really give the feel like it was
the arm that came out of... like a factory where it had been crushed
and you know there was loads of damage flying around. So it's quite nice
that this one does look like it's had some serious wear to it
it looks very believable. So I really like the look of it.
it's made of a variety of different components. There's a bit of resin in here, a bit of metal...
the whole thing though is then chrome plated
and then all this weathering is then added to it.
So I will have a proper look at that in a moment. The mold is made from
the originals. Cast from the original one from
Stan Winston Studios use and
so yeah, you get a very good-looking replica
but some people say 'can you move any of the parts?' No the pose
is fixed. It would just cost ridiculous amounts if it wasn't. So the pose that you get which
looks really cool anyway
is a fixed pose so I'll spin that around in a moment for you but
you can see the detail that you get on the
hand is just awesome. And then the wires coming down so
those are wires that actually move. They are proper wires. I like the pistons
and down to the hand.
Tut the hand. Rather the forearm and the joint.
To the display piece there and down to
the front part . Now the base looks very similar to
what you see in the kit versions. I've seen there are loads of kit ones of these that you can get
that are just resin
and you manually paint them
yes some kit form that was originally and companies licence it out so this one is
licensed
And there is some nice
benefits of the base vs the one from Sideshow
Um which you can see there.
See these lights? So the Sideshow one has no lights on it.
No these, this is not gonna show great in here in the day but check it out
you got three lights. One at the back as well
and at night this just looks awesome. It just lights the arm up
you can see it shining up here on the knuckles
so that's a really nice addition also what I like is it's
made to be international in that it's just powered by three AAA batteries in
the base so that's really good news as well. But really nice touch by
HCG there. So again a good thumbs up.
A nice um plaque on the front
I think that's a bit nicer than Sideshow's as well. It looks pretty cool.
Ie makes it look like you got something valuable um
so we're have a look at that and I'm gonna take the tube off in a minute and
spin the arm round and have a look at the rest of it but hopefully you're pretty excited by this piece
Cos
It's my favourite replica that I think I've ever seen. And
I'm one of the few who had the Sideshow one as well so
it's quite nice that I can give you a comparison between
two very rare replicas.
OK so off comes the acrylic tube. I'll give it a spin round and look at the other side.
Then we'll zoom in on that...
but yeah look at this detail
I wouldn't have liked to have been the guy who had to construct these
Bet it took ages so this is one thing about this some people
I remember reading, tut reading. I
saw one guy's review of the sideshow one he was
a little bit disappointed because he couldn't change the..
like the um pose of these fingers and I thought
really? You know it still looks pretty damn cool
and to think at that price. OK it
is quite expensive replica but it is huge. I'll talk about the size of it in a moment
Let's do that before I forget. I'll zoom out a bit
cos it is a big beast. The arm itself
is twenty two and a half inches tall or fifty
seven centimetres high. With the base it is a whopping
mmm 29 inches tall 73 centimeters high
and width it is
Twenty centimetres wide
about 23 deep. Um so yeah it is a
big replica. Oh and the tube
is 18 wide
64 tall. Um
so yes sorry back to the detail this side
you can see so much detail in this as we go down
yeah hopefully you like the dirt as well. I think it's really cool
er you probably have some people say 'I want it shiny, can
I get it shiny?' Possibly that's triple chrome plated
then it has the dirt applied to it. Personally I wouldn't like to mess with it.
um the Endoskulls from Sideshow they have a clean one
which is very rare and then combat edition and some people have
cleaned the combat edition up to make it look like the chrome one
so it's probably possible but I do think that they've done a good job on
the dirt. I'll just
spin around again. Have a look on this
side. sometimes you see the dirt version
and I had the combat edition of the endoskull myself and again I quite liked it dirty and just left it like it was.
Um true to the movie you've got the broken
bit here that is deliberate. So you see here that is the bit that snapped off
in the movie which is cool. Um so yeah
it's a really pretty replica
I just think it's such an awesome piece to have displayed
so if you've got the money highly recommend I think it's something that
will
go up in value over the years and
it's officially licensed so it's not some dodgy knock-off
version um so yeah
in terms of the touch it does feel cold to the touch not quite cold to the
touch as the sideshow one because you've got all this dirt on it
so that's a course covering the chrome in places but it's good that is triple
chrome plated cos
it's fairly hard wearing. You don't wanna bash it of course
you know ideally just leave it on display but
yeah i think it's awesome, awesome, awesome.
I'm just gonna pop that off and show you one more thing before we put it back together.
and just gonna put this somewhere safe cos I don't want to drop it.
...
I just wanted to show you urgh this
is where I drop it and cry... that's the base.
it'll tell you what number edition it is. This one is 618
of 750. um and then you have got the batteries in there
So you can see that it is a licenced one
and the copyright on it was actually 2012 so
they have been really hard to get hopld of though cos I
originally queried and they said no they haven't got any. And then they said
oh we have managed to get some more.
So that was really good to hear
um but yeah that is about it. So I'll just put it back together...
and give you one final look at it
and of course this'll spin where ever you want it to so
you just look at the pose up here. See where you like. I
quite like it about there. Pop your
tube back on to keep it all nice and clean
and your lights on
or off even
there we go
and everything is cool, so there you go.
Just give you one more zoom in. That is the HCG Hollywood Collectibles Group
awesome, awesome, awesome
t2 t-800 endoarm. If you want one
we've got the in the UK at the minute. It's the end of September 2013 now
I won't have them for very long so if you want one, give us a shout
hope you enjoyed that as much as I did
thanks for watching
Just thought I'd add one more thing with the T-800 endoarm
I've tried to put in a darker location for you. It's not pitch black out a minute but um
it's daylight but just to see that it does look really cool
with the um lights on
even in the day so not picking up quite right but
you can see that you get nice blue shards of light
they light up the arm really nicely
so there you go. I do think if there is one prop replica that you buy
if you are a Terminator fan, this is the one. I know it's a lot of money
but it will increase in value and it looks
just wicked!
