today we will talk about photocells
and how to connect it to an Arduino Board
we will conect a LED
The LED will turn on or off depending on the light
captured by the photocell
So, the materials needed
to do the tutorial are:
1 KOhm resistor connected to
the photocell,
a 220Ohm resistor,
connected to the LED,
a photocell.
an Arduino Uno,
and wiring cables
In the screen
we can see the circuit to build
So this is our breadboard with the circuit
and we will see how a photocell works
the program running at the microcontroller
will turn on the LED depending on the light captured by the sensor
So the circuit
is
a photocell sensor connected to a resistor
and connected to an analog pin
with the yellow cable
The red cable is wired to the 5V pin
and the black cable to GND
so,
if the light changes
the photocell resistance will change
and the LED will turn on
the LED is connected to a digitaL
output of ARDUINO
So now
I will switch off the light table light
as you can see the light of my room is on
But when I I put a hand on the board
the shadow of my hand
will be projected
to the photocell
to verify that the LED turns on
It works perfectly
Now, I switch off the light of my room
and he LED turns on too
So now we understand
how a photocell works
the sensor has a short response time
this tutorial
is simple work time
does not last long
and you is useful to understand how a photocell works
for future aplications
hope you enjoy the tutorial you can find more info about it @opiron.com
