>> Story Project is a safe space for
first-generation college students. We are not
afraid to speak our mind.
>> Story Project is a -- it's an
organization -- or let my say family, it's more
like a family.
>> Story Project means to me a family.
It means so much to me.
>> They're like my family away from
home, basically.
>> Story Project means a place where I
can talk to people who I've actually grown to
love.
>> Reading the Story Project and
talking with the rest of the [indiscernible] help
me to start talking out more and understanding
value.
>> I come here and I've been telling
everybody's there to help me out or, like, give
me different ideas, different opinions, or have
you thought about this, have you thought about
that? Oh, wait, I know someone that can help you
with this.
>> It gives us a chance to actually
tell our story that we just won't tell any group
of friends on campus. Like we will actually sit
down and we discuss, like, how we feel about
being a first-gen student. So it's really
important to actually get people to hear you out.
>> Being able to articulate a personal
story is such a beautiful thing, I don't know,
for me it is, because that's, like, one of the
few chances where you get to really express
yourself as a person and also being able to tell
people something that they probably would have
never known about you.
>> We're all in the same boat. We're
all the first ones here. Like, I'm not really
that outgoing type to, like, tell people how I'm
feeling, but these people, we're so close that I
feel like I could talk to them about anything and
just -- I don't know, I just love these people
here.
