My original tomato plant that was a year and a half old recently died off. I'm not sure
if it died from old age or some kind of disease, but it did yield a lot of fruit during its
life. As it grew, I would remove the lower foliage and coil up the vine to keep it fairly
short. When I pulled out the plant, there wasn't a huge root structure left so I think
it's been dying off for a while. Just for fun, I decided to measure the total length.
It was around 31 feet, or 9.5 meters long. Not too shabby!
