Hello, my name is Shalon Delgado and on behalf of Expert Village I’m here to talk to you
today about a professional portfolio. Models need to have a portfolio on hand at all times,
it’s essential for them to take with them. You want to take your portfolio to any casting
calls, model calls, agency interviews or manager interview, you also want to take it to any
kind of shoot that you’re going on to compare it with the work that your photographer that
you’re actually getting to work with does. You want to make sure that you have in there
your essential items, which is: a professional headshot, full body, a commercial shot and
those are the three basic ones that you want to have in there but you can also have some
art in there but mostly those other three. You also want to make sure that your photographs
are taken by more than one photographer, you want to at least have 12 strong images in
your portfolio. When I say at least, I’m not telling you to have too many more because
too many pictures is not good either, people don’t want to flip through a book a pictures,
it’s not professional. So make sure that your portfolio is very strong, get different
opinions from other photographers on how it looks and make sure that you’re not just
spending your money on pictures that look the same because it’s a waste of money.
