Plan your work and work your plan. How do you say I love you? This is Doctor Paul, author
of Boomer Girls: A Boomer Woman's Guide to Men and Dating and host of Ask Doctor Paul.
This is a critical thing. You plan on how you're going to say I love you. Whether you
are a man or a woman, you set up the scenario. I am going to tell this person today that
I love him or her. We will go to a place that is quiet, we're not going to a place that
has this loud band rocking in the back and you saying I love you, that doesn't work.
Set the plan. And go for example on a picnic. And you're looking at each other, it's a very,
very nice situation. And you're under the trees and you have a blanket and a picnic
basket, the whole business, and you look at the other and... I love you. See how it's
done? That's how it works. And that's the way the want to work it. Work your plan then.
You've already planned your work. Where else can you go? There are any number - it doesn't
have to be a beach, it doesn't have to be a picnic, it doesn't have to be anywhere except
a place where you can certainly look at the other, it can be a quiet restaurant, and there
are too many loud ones. It can be a quiet place for eating. Some place that has a difference
to it, so that the two of you can communicate. And you simply look the other in the eye and
let them know. Don't hem haw around, I think I love you doesn't get it. I love you, smooth,
I love you, direct, I love you with encumbrance. That's how it's done. If you drop the ball
there, guys, or if you fumble, ladies, guess what? You will never be believed. It's not
a subtle thing, it's not a halfway thing, it's a direct communication with the other.
This is Doctor Paul, may your fantasies of today be your realities of tomorrow.
