MICHAEL LEWIS: Michael Lewis here with Christian Martial Arts. On behalf of Expert Village,
we are here to talk today about executing an outboard wristlock. Now we are going to
show you exactly what an outboard wristlock is and how and why you would use it. If Dean
were to grab my wrist, I would flip up and grab into what we call an outboard wristlock.
Now, an outboard wristlock goes to the outside of the body. So you have a center line that
splits the body half. You push in with the thumbs and twist over. And that would, again,
of course, it will sort of tilt his body over, allowing you to possibly execute a throw.
Now, why you would use this? If you are stand up fighting and you have your hands up and
someone is throwing punches, you are not necessarily going to be able to capture the wrist. But
if someone grabs you, if you were to grab my lapel and I were to flip over, then I would
be able to execute the wristlock. If you were to grab my wrist, I would be able to flip
over and execute the wristlock. And we are going to go over these techniques so you guys
will know exactly how to execute from different holds and grabs.
