Glasgow, Hampden Park, a state-of-the-art venue for international sport
[pause]
>> MAN 1: It's been a great day, a great visit for the guys to hear the history of Scottish
Football, to hear about the history of Hampden Park. They've really enjoyed themselves and
had a training session this morning and then they were always going to finish off with
a tour of the stadium and a look at the museum. So it's been really a great day so far.

>> BOY 1: I think it's a great stadium and I can see it's come along a lot from the older
stadiums because I've seen pictures of them and I've heard what they were like.
[pause]
>> MAN 2: It's brilliant actually seeing the difference to the changing rooms, the opportunities,
the facilities that the professionals have got now – it's incredible compared to what
it was 20 or 30 years ago. [pause]
>> BOY 2: I've enjoyed the tour from Bruce, just going round the changing rooms and learning
about more Scottish history. [pause]
>> MAN 2: I've actually enjoyed Bruce's tour, telling us a bit about the history of the
place, where the teams come in, the size of the changing rooms, who uses which changing
room... He's comparing it from international matches to cup finals, to the battle of the
Glasgow teams and who gets to use what, so it's been very informative for me and the
other coaches, let alone what the boys are going to be exposed to. So I'm sure they've
all enjoyed a cracking day. I know I have... [pause]
>> BOY 1: It shows us all the different parts of the stadium and how much thought was involved
in designing it and making it suitable for both teams so there's no favouritism.

>> MAN 1: I've actually played here in the old stadium in the early 90s. I heard Bruce
saying that this changed in 1991 to the new stadium so I was actually here watching a
lot of games in the early 80s and I played it in the early 90s. And it's a massive difference.
What a change it is, it's a beautiful stadium, compared to what it was before. It was an
old wreck of a stadium. It's been great. I've really been interested in what Bruce has been
telling the kids. It's been really interesting to hear about the different stages of how
it was built and the history of the teams that have played here.
[pause]
>> BOY 2: I've been here as a Harts fan in the semi-final of the Scottish Cup final and
the atmosphere was brilliant. All the fans and just everyone singing. I've been here
when my team has won in the Scottish Cup final and semi-final.

>> MAN 2: People talk about the athletics track being around it as maybe having an adverse
effect, but I've been to cup finals, I've been to international matches and the atmosphere
is always absolutely superb. That's mainly because of the Scotland fans but the pitch
is in great condition as well and the place is fantastic.
