Today we're trying to use Aurora, the world's largest polar bear. We're bringing her to
the streets of London, and we're creating an Arctic uproar. We're part of a global day
of action in 100 cities and five continents, all over the world. We're doing this to draw
attention to the fact that oil companies like Shell, who are based here in London, are trying
to drill for oil in the Arctic. At the moment, the sea ice in the Arctic is melting. It's
melted by 75%, measured by volume over the last 30 years. And as the ice melts, we're
seeing creatures like polar bears really struggle, losing their habitat and some of them are
dying of starvation. And what's happening is that as the ice melts, companies like Shell
want to go there and drill for oil. Oil is a fossil fuel that's part of the reason that
the Arctic is melting because the planet changed, and we hope that when we get to Shell's headquarters,
everybody is going to roar. We hope that Shell hear this global roar, telling them not to
drill for oil in the Arctic.
