"Using your bicycle to connect with public transport is easier than ever,
with new secure bike parking at a growing number
of train stations and interchanges across Adelaide. Just ride to the station, ['beep' sound]
use your Metrocard to open the door, lock your bike inside,
then hop on your bus or train.
The facilities are easy to use,
secure for your bike and safe for you.
All you need is a Metrocard with
access to the facilities. [background music fade-out]
The first step is to register your MetroCard with your name
and details if you haven't done so already. Just follow the instructions on
the Adelaide Metro website.
Now you can arrange to have access added to your MetroCard.
Visit an Adelaide Metro InfoCentre -
at the Adelaide Railway Station or on the corner of Curry and King William
streets -
and ask to have the 'bike cage fare'
added to your MetroCard. You'll need to show your photo ID,
and pay an annual fee of ten dollars."
"Excellent"."Thanks very much for that."
"Your Metrocard will now give you access.
Just touch it on the touchpad to open the door, ['beep' sound]
lock your bicycle to one of the rails,
and shut the door securely behind you.
Then you're ready to travel. Retrieving your bike ['beep' sound] at the end of your trip
is just as simple. Each facility has a security camera
so Adelaide Metro staff can monitor activity and discourage tampering.
They're also brightly lit, so you can use them
any time of the day... or night.
There are now bike cages at Klemzig, Paradise
and Tea Tree Plaza interchanges and at Gawler,
Munno Para, Elizabeth, and Hallett Cove Beach railway stations.
The existing bike cage at Noarlunga Station
will soon be accessible only by Metrocard. New bike cages will soon be available at
the Seaford and Seaford Meadows railway stations,
and at the new Dumas Street Park'n'Ride at Mount Barker. [music fades in]
