This week, let's take a look at the historical Krause House. Designed by the legendary Frank
Lloyd Wright in 1955, it is now preserved as an architectural museum in Ebsworth Park.
At the time, Wright was working on the Guggenheim Museum in New York.
But he wanted to bring his design philosophy, that buildings should embrace their natural
surroundings, to a wider audience.
Joanne Cohn fell under its spell by accident.
...and I still am seduced by the house, there's something magical about coming into this house.
Even without a legendary name, there are many ways to place homebuyers under your house's
spell. According to Angie Hicks, begin by concentrating on details that are easy to
overlook.
No one looks at their house in a more critical way than at the point as to whether they are
deciding to buy a house. So walk around your house go in doors you've never looked in and
make a list of things that need to be improved.
But, before the buyer even steps foot in your home, you should already be putting your best
foot forward.
First impressions are not being made at the front door anymore. In fact, now, it's all
about curb appeal. Buyers are actually assessing your home from the moment they see the front
yard. So what is your landscaping saying about your space?
Take advantage of one of these gorgeous, sunny days we've been having to spruce up your landscaping
for a more welcoming feel. Once they're inside, you'll want to hook them with color. Keep
in mind, we're trying to wow them with a vibrant, eye-catching look that goes beyond everyday
decor.
One of the great places to start in your house is if you have some bookcases that look tired
or they look dull, I love to use wallpaper. Cut it to fit, slip it in the back, put the
shelves back in, and you've got yourself one heck of a great color.
With the real estate market picking back up, it's the little things that can put your home
ahead of the competition. But there's no need to sweat the details, just keep tuning in
for more news and tips.
