How to Get Six Pack Abs by Just Moving Your Arms (Secret 6 Pack Abs Exercise)
Who knew that you could get a set of six pack abs without moving anything but your arms
Today I am going to show you an exercise that you can put into your ab arsenal that you
might never have thought of before.
Intro Video -- Train Like An Athlete - ATHLEANX.COM
What's up guys, Jeff Cavaliere, ATHLEANX.COM
As I said in the intro, who knew that you could work your abs by just moving your arms.
But the fact of the matter is.
If you want to get a complete six pack, if you want to develop your whole core, you have
to make sure that you are not just not focusing, as I mentioned in previous videos, on just
crunching or just planks, because you are omitting a large part of what the abs do.
And that is what this secret exercise really goes after. And that is the control of prevention
of rotation and the control of prevention of a lateral trunk lean.
So, as I said, this exercise, I call it a secret one only because most guys aren't doing
it or any variation of it. And it is a perfect way to attack, like I just said, those two
main functions of the abs.
I am going to break out the TRX, as you guys have asked me to do for so long now, to show
you. But as I have shown in the past, if you don't have a TRX it doesn't mean that you
can't do an exercise like this.
Because all you need is an $8 dog leash, even if you don't have a dog, hang it over the
top of your pull up bar, attach it to itself, slide it up and now you have got a TRX strap.
Buy two of these and you are good to go.
I will demonstrate, though with the TRX, and basically what we have to do is get it onto
a pull up bar so it can be sturdy.
The difficulty of this exercise will be determined by how close my feet are to the anchor point
and how long the length of the straps are.
You can play around with that, as you see, if you need to make this shorter, just wrap
this around your hand once or twice, and then you can change your foot placement. But you
also want to make sure that your feet are staggered, ok wider base of support.
You are going to make this a little bit easier, as you get stronger, you can pull your feet
even closer together. But the idea here is to keep your feet in line with each other,
staggered.
Get yourself away again, a certain distance from the anchor point, my feet are sort of
midway between the anchor point and the bands.
Now what I am going to do is lean my whole body, you know at this 75 degree angle or
so, off of the ground.
Now where is the exercise.? Like I said, at this point we are only going to be able to
be moving our arms. So the arms stay out in front of your, right here.
Now what is this doing, right here, it makes it hard to talk number 1 but number 2, is
because I have to really work hard and hold in here to control rotation.
Because if I let go it wants to twist me that way, right. These bands want to twist me in
that direction.
So basically, I have to get out here and hold that.
Now from here if I let the arms go up over head right in here, now I have to hold trunk
lean because I am going to fall that way if I don't.
So, controlling it, straight out, over head, straight out, preventing lean, preventing
rotation, preventing lean, preventing rotation, lean, rotation.
So obviously, you would want to do this on both sides. You would want to work right and
left, the concept here is to see if you can get through six or seven up and down.
Again, I call this secret, only because most people are not doing it.
Look, guys on AthleanX understand these principles.
So if you haven't already started following AthleanX program, guys I definitely invite
you to come on board Team Athlean and start training like an athlete.
Incorporate moves that challenge your abs in every single direction, right. We don't
work in just this plane, or this plane or just rotation.
We work in all three elements of them at all times. So single plane movement, we can throw
it out. We combine movements together, we start getting better and better results.
Guys, as I said, if you haven't already, pick up the AthleanX Training Program and let me
know what you think about this exercise, whether you try it with a TRX, whether you try it
with a dog leash or even if you try it with a cable machine because it all works.
I'll see you guys back here in seven days, in the meantime have a great rest of your
week.
