>> SCOTT SCHLUP: ...see some of you. There's lights in my eyes, so... there's a million of you out there,
and I appreciate that.
Our first piece is really in keeping with our theme of east meets west tonight.
We started out in the east area, and that piece was by Hiroshi Hoshina, a fabulous, young, famous composer, called 'Fu Mon.'
And now we're going to stay in Japan with a piece called 'Sakura.'
And this piece is not only representing their national flower, the cherry blossom,
but it really represents what their band concerts are like.
The first half of their band concerts are all very classical-based, and then the second half are almost like pop music concerts.
And so within this one piece you're going to hear us do both of those kinds of music, and I hope you enjoy 'Sakura.'
Sakura!
