Hudl runs on
Google's Android operating system.
The device uses the Jelly Vean version of Android which is
easy to use, so don't worry if you're a first time user
it takes no time at all to get to grips with it. Let's have a look at how it works.
To wake up the device you swipe
the padlock to unlock it, and then to get to the home screen
you tap the home icon in the center of the bottom bar.
There's also a favourites tray for you to quick access the apps that you use the most
and you can switch these around at anytime. As for the apps that
you have you can see all of them by hitting the
all apps icon and then swiping between the pages.
You'll find everything here from your photo gallery to your contacts
to your notes and music. You'll also benefit from having all have Google's
services at your fingertips, so
Gmail, YouTube and Google Maps all come pre-installed,
as does Google Chrome which is great for browsing the web.
Another really cool feature on this device is Google now
which you can access by swiping up from the home button,
and what it does is it allows you to get information when you're in a rush,
so local restaurants, train times and more without even needing to ask.
Along the bottom of the screen you'll find three more icons for finding your
way around your Hudl.
Tap the arrow or back button to return to a previous page,
the recent apps icon will throw up
all the apps recently opened and you could multitask between them
and then bottom left is this T icon.
Tap that and open up a world
of Tesco services. You can quickly launch any of your favorite
apps or games by pinning them to one of your homescreens.
This is done by tapping and holding
any of the apps and then dragging them
to where you want. When you're ready to download more apps, games, music
or books you can do this by entering Google Play.
This is Android's multimedia store where there are over a
million apps available, many of them free.
You'll need to connect with your Google account and then you can browse away,
you can enter a search for a specific app or you can have a look and see what's
recommended in store.
If you don't have a Google account it's free and easy to set one up.
Once you've found what you're looking for, tapped the price to buy
or if it's a free app just tap install
and it will download in no time at all. Now it's time to sit back
and enjoy your purchase, so if you'll excuse me.
