hello all, welcome!
We will see in this video sculpey types and some of the combinations
I used to work
These are the most common types available in the market.
With small color bars I'm only mentioned and passed them
is the regular Sculpey
this terracotta or white
the Super Sculpey
that is pink
the Super Sculpey Firm is grey
Premo version has several colors
the main reasons for combining are
one, generate more material
if you have a couple of terracotta and just one pink or grey
can combine them and make more material.
another (and perhaps my main) is to get consistency perfect to work
each material has a different range
and we look which are ideal for work on each occasion
or for everyone
each one have a diferent taste
too, if I have near to hand
add a percentage of Sculpey Mold Maker
is at the same time softener, the material gives a slightly springy to the mix
I also noticed that when it contains this added dehydrated slower
be careful with this item
added myself recommended small portions
looking great consistency
because we add too much will be so smooth
I'm showing full bars as a Portion
to give you an idea of this
"One of this, two that some of this other ..."
if you going to combine More o less amount
calculating the appropriate ratio
another reason to combine materials
is especially for Super Sculpey( pink)
is like Sculpey III
you should be very careful not to stain it
it gets dirty very Easy, and that the model generates shadows
that do not exist there
and that causes errors
don´t matter the color material. if in the end the pieze will be painted
except some figures what.
I know I'm not going to paint and if I like a specified tone
other considerations is what kind figures and how I do
if it is a day where I know I'll have to make several figures
is better to work with material that is little soft
otherwise, know in the end of the day, my fingers pass me the bill
if I use a very hard material
But ,it is just that
everyone has to experience what they like most,
please, test and see which combination suits
is better to work
I have regained some pictures of figures without paint to make it look that really
using different combinations
I would not say it's a rule .. but
personally
for simple sculptures, use terracotta combinations
and preferably the grey mix for more details jobs
but this is just personal taste
prove foryourself what combination is better to work
no more for the moment, a greeting
